Portsmouth Ford Donates Engine to Portsmouth High School Auto Program

portsmouth-ford-insetWe were excited to visit Portsmouth High School this week to witness a great donation to their automotive program. Representatives from Portsmouth Ford and Ford Motor Company were on hand to donate a 2.3L engine to the program. Representatives in attendance included:

With this donation, high school students can complete Ford Service Training through ACE (Automotive Career Exploration). In this program that is directly sponsored by Portsmouth Ford, high school students are able to take industry courses that Ford technicians currently take in dealerships. This donation is a great example of how the automotive industry continues to support the future of its workforce by partnering with schools to ensure that students have the resources, tools, and training they need to become qualified future technicians.

The NH Automotive Education Foundation (NHAEF) understands that there is great value in students making connections within industry and we work to build and maintain these relationships in our efforts to promote automotive careers. During the month of May, the Education Foundation toured the state visiting high schools and tech centers. We have been joined by leaders who are helping build the foundational relationships between students and industry professionals.
