Grants Provide Electric Vehicle Kits to NHCTE and CCSNH Auto Programs

The NHADA Foundation was excited to be on hand at Nashua Community College as instructors and representatives from The Switch Lab worked together to assemble an electric car kit. This reusable build-your-own kit was obtained through a $200,000 grant stemming from a partnership between the New Hampshire Department of Education, Bureau of Career & Technical Education, and California based Switch Vehicles (The Switch Lab).

The programs that received kits include:

The reusable electric car kit can be assembled, disassembled, and reassembled again allowing students to understand all aspects of the build process. By experiencing the entire assembly process of the vehicle, students are exposed to automotive, computer science, physics, and electronic engineering technologies. The real world application of the Switch Vehicles EV kit allows for team based learning as students work cohesively to assemble the state of the art vehicle.

It is important that New Hampshire continues to evolve with the industry and implement the necessary infrastructure to ensure that its automotive technicians are prepared for the growth of Electric Vehicles. This grant is a great leap in the right direction providing New Hampshire's future automotive technicians with the necessary tools to prepare for the workforce.
