NH Industry Partners Donate Equipment to Dover Collision Repair Program

The NHADA Education Foundation, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care of New Hampshire, Tulley Collision Center, Portsmouth Auto Body Center, Hampton Ford Collision Center and McFarland Ford Body Shop, have donated a brand new ultra-high-strength steel welder to the Auto Collision Repair Program at Dover High School and Regional Career Technical Center.

The new Spanesi Q5.2 welder keeps Dover’s Auto Collision program up to date with the welding practices required on the newest vehicles. The latest vehicles often contain ultra-high-strength steel which cannot be welded with traditional welding methods. The welder is a multi-function three-torch MIG/MAG inverter, that is capable of silicon bronze, aluminum and steel.

“Industry Partners working with local educators create pathways for today’s students into careers of their choice. Students are able to graduate with career credentials which makes entering the workforce seamless” says Jessica Dade, NHADA Education Foundation Executive Director.

Spanesi, a long-time supporter of Dover High School, provided much appreciated discounts on the welder and various tools over the years including a paint spray booth, prep station and a paint mixing room.

“The students are looking forward to learning how MIG brazing works, as well as gaining skills in creating proper welds. This is a great tool to have at their disposal, because being proficient at different types of welding makes them that much more employable in the trade,” said Nathan Kalway, Automotive Collision Repair Instructor.

“Harvard Pilgrim is excited to be joining forces with the NH Auto Dealer Education Foundation in providing funds for a new Spanesi Q5.2 welder to the Dover CTE Collision program.  Partnerships like this are critical to supporting tomorrow’s NH workforce.” said Bill Brewster, VP for the NH Market for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

“We are so thankful for all of the support that the NHADA Education Foundation and local businesses have has shown to both our Automotive Repair and Collision programs here at Dover over the years,” said Samantha Tukey, CTC Director. “It is connections like these that help our programs continue to grow and evolve with the needs of the employers in our community that look to hire our students after graduation.”
