Gordon Darby Chosen to Continue OBD and Safety Testing for New Hampshire

Gordon-Darby is pleased to have been chosen to continue the OBD and Safety Testing program for the State of New Hampshire for the next several years.

"We look forward to serving our current customers as well as new stations in our cooperative effort to fulfill state requirements for the vehicle inspection program."

-NHOST Services

While the new contract is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2020, an immediate benefit for the stations is a reduction of the inspection fee for OBD inspections.

The OBD inspection fee has been $3.38 since 2012. If the vehicle passes the safety inspection and receives a sticker, an additional fee of $.60 was added in 2017 for the backer.    Or:

Prior to July 1st, 2019:
OBD inspection- $3.38
Backer- $0.60
Total- $3.98

The OBD fee is now being reduced to $3.28 which includes the cost of the backer for vehicles that pass the safety test. This fee reduction will save stations $.70 for OBD inspections with a passing safety test.  Or:

Effective July 1st, 2019:
OBD inspection- $3.28
Backer- $0.00
Total- $3.28

The costs above do not include the State's $3.25 fee. For non-OBD vehicles that receive a sticker, the fee will remain at $.60 per backer. The $.60 fee will also continue to be assessed for backers that are lost, stolen or damaged.

Because of the new agreement between the State and Gordon-Darby, we have been able to apply this fee reduction as of July 1, 2019. This means you will see the fee changes on your July invoice coming out in August. Please review your invoice carefully and be aware of the changes to these fees.

If you have any questions regarding the fee reduction, please contact their Help Line at 1-800-383-4124.
