Scam Alert: Sending Address Letter Swap

On Monday, September 16, an email at Belknap Subaru was compromised. The hacker, posing as General Manager Scott Ives, sent along an invoice to the office manager, and asked for her to "take care of this."

Cc'd on the email, pictured below, was an additional office assistant and the parts manager.

The invoice was from Lawrence Mills for parts delivered on September 12, 2019.

Thankfully this email was caught before it was too late, and it serves as a good reminder to always look closely at the sending address, not just the first and last name of the email sender. In this instance 'Belknap' was spelled 'Belkanp', see photo.
