A New Hampshire dealer has reported an e-lead gone wrong. The lead, a Pennsylvania resident, requested delivery of a vehicle and attempted to pay with 3 different credit cards.
The customer provided a drivers license through email, but insisted in providing payment via fax. After the deal was finalized they claimed they would send a tow truck to have the vehicle delivered.
The tow truck, a NH plate, arrived at the dealership but not before the deal was deemed a scam by the dealer.
Important: Always verify suspicious credit card purchases by calling the bank prior to finalizing the deal. Thankfully, this scam was caught before it was too late.
