Safety Programs

In an effort to assist NHADA WCT members in complying with these requirements, the NHADA WCT Loss Prevention Department offers industry-specific sample programs that can be easily customized.

Below is a list, along with brief descriptions, of the written programs/policies offered.

  • Written Safety Program
[Required by the New Hampshire Department of Labor (Lab 602.01), this is a comprehensive written program that covers a wide range of safety issues. This program is mandatory for any New Hampshire business with ten or more employees.]
  • Hazard Communication Program
[Required by OSHA (1910.1200), this program deals with the safe use and understanding of chemicals in the workplace. Topics include employee training, MSDS's, and container labeling.]
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Program
[Required by OSHA (1910.1030), this program covers protecting employees from diseases spread by contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.]
  • Written Respiratory Protection Program
[Required by OSHA (1910.135) for workplaces that use respirators, this program outlines the safe selection, use, and care for respirators.]
  • Hazard Assessment/PPE Matrix
[This was adapted by NHADA WCT Loss Prevention to meet the OSHA requirements (1910.132) for automotive service and body work. This provides the framework for shop policies toward the use of Personal Protective Equipment when performning different tasks.]
  • Safety Program Evaluation
(This is a nice tool to see how you're doing safety program-wise.)
  • Lockout/Tagout Program
(Mandated by OSHA, this program, in our type of business, generally can be very simple. The brief program shown here is suitable for nearly all shops and should satisfy OSHA requirements. It is not appropriate for shops with extensive machining facilities. Those will require more complex programs. Contact the Loss Prevention Department for more information.)
