Need Auto Techs?

Workforce Development College Courses

Classes begin August 28. Do not delay.
Limited spaces are available; first-come, first-served.

Everyone is looking for qualified technicians. Some NHADA members have looked within their own companies for employees to train with good success! These savvy members have taken advantage of a job training grant that NHADA received from the NH Dept. of Business and Economic Affairs to train existing employees in Automotive Technology at NH community colleges. The attendees receive college credits, and NHADA members are reimbursed half of the tuition through the grant.

Mark Tulley of Tulley Automotive Group points out that it is important to find the right candidate – an employee who has a good work ethic and is eager to create a career out of a job. Mark enrolled three employees last semester, and they are all eager to continue their education – plus, several other of his employees are now interested in participating.

Banks Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC Service Director Rick Gauthier has also had great results. Several of his employees have taken multiple courses and are eager to continue their education. Rick emphasizes that it is a long-term yet worthwhile investment.

NHADA members, you can provide automotive technology college courses to your entry-level employees through this grant. The employees will receive college credits at NH community colleges, and NHADA members will be reimbursed half of the tuition. So, take a look at your employees to see who might be a good candidate. Your future tech might just be working in your wash bay!

Use the registration form for the chosen school and include a completed copy of the payment authorization form. Both forms must be faxed, emailed or mailed as directed.

The employer and not the employee must pay for tuition, books and fees, and they are also eligible for one-half reimbursement. We will receive copies of tuition/fee payments from the community colleges. It is up to the
member company to submit copies of other receipts to NHADA to include in the reimbursement request. If the employee picks up and pays for book, show clearly your reimbursement to the student. We will submit all to the NH Job Training Grant for reimbursement.Students are required to have work boots. NHADA provides safety glasses and tools to the colleges for your
employees’ use during these classes.
